Chris has been an active volunteer and member of the community, serving as a Republican precinct chair, election judge, and delegate/alternate at Republican state conventions since 1996. He previously served as the Treasurer for the Collin County Republican Party, and in 2010, Chris was named the Collin County Republican Party Volunteer of the Year.

Chris and his family worship regularly at Frisco Bible Church. He is a member of the Texas Home School Coalition and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He currently serves or has served on the board of directors for the Texas County and District Retirement System (appointed by Governor Greg Abbott), the Texas Indigent Defense Commission (appointed by Governor Greg Abbott), the North Central Texas Council of Governments, TEX-21, the North Texas Commission, the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority, The Samaritan Inn, Minuteman Disaster Response, Hope Women’s Center, Boy Scouts of America Circle Ten Council, and the Allen Community Outreach Advisory Council. Chris is an Eagle Scout and a member of MENSA.

During his campaign, Chris pledged that he would pursue limited government, low taxes, and excellence in every aspect of county government. Chris kept his promises and has proven to be a courageous and consistent champion for private property rights, limited regulation, low property taxes, and government transparency. Chris and the county commissioners have reduced the property tax rate nine consecutive years, adopting the “no-new-taxes” effective rate for the last six years in a row.

Today, Collin County has the #1 lowest county property tax rate of all 254 Texas counties and the county leads the way across the State of Texas in economic opportunity and county government efficiency.

NCTCOG is an association of local governments established in 1970 to assist local governments in the 16-county North Texas region with transportation planning, environmental protection, development services, aging and disability resources, emergency preparedness, and more.

North Texas Commission (NTC)

NTC is a unique public-private partnership that drives large impactful projects and legislative issues benefiting a robust 13-county region. NTC tackles the region’s greatest challenges with board and staff subject matter experts who provide resources to market the region and educate future leaders. We manage our region’s unified advocacy voice at the state and federal levels.

Minuteman Disaster Response (MDR)
Director, Board of Directors (2014-2023)
MDR provides life-saving assistance in the immediate aftermath of a disaster by providing well-trained, well-equipped, self-contained task forces and strike teams to assist in search and rescue, emergency medical operations, disaster scene management and emergency communications.

Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS)
Trustee, Board of Trustees (2019-2022)
Appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. TCDRS was created by the Legislature in 1967 to provide Texas county and district employees with retirement, disability, and survivor benefits. For more than 50 years, TCDRS has been a model for providing reliable and responsibly funded retirement benefits.

Transportation Excellence for the 21st Century (TEX-21)

TEX-21 was founded over 20 years ago to improve the transportation infrastructure in Texas and Oklahoma, by creating strategies to increase investment, by improving the planning and management of our transportation facilities, and by increasing public awareness of the importance of multi-modal transportation required for economic development and sustainability.

Texas Indigent Defense Commission (TIDC)
Director, Governing Board (2019-2019)
Appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. TIDC safeguards liberty by ensuring that Texas and its 254 counties provide the right to counsel guaranteed by the United States and Texas Constitutions. TIDC’s work takes three main forms: funding, oversight, and improvement.

The Samaritan Inn
Director, Board of Directors (2014-2018)
The Samaritan Inn is a comprehensive program that teaches self-sufficiency and life skills to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Texas Conference of Urban Counties (CUC)
Member, Policy Committee (2013-2017)
CUC is an association of 34 Texas counties that represent nearly 80% of the population of Texas. CUC coordinates communication among member counties, studies policies and programs of the State of Texas that affect urban counties, advocates for county issues, primarily at the state level, and provides training and education programs appropriate for urban county officials.

Hope Women’s Center

Hope Women’s Center is a non-profit medical clinic serving Collin County and North Dallas, providing free medical services and accurate information on all options regarding unplanned pregnancy, including education on abortion, adoption, and parenting. Our goal is to provide women and teens with an education that empowers them to make healthy, well-informed decisions.

North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA)
Director, Board of Directors (2014-2014)
NTBHA seeks to develop a collaborative system of care for individuals experiencing mental illness and/or substance use disorders in North Texas.
