Visiting the African safari was an amazing experience with kids! The children absolutely loved it, and as adults, we enjoyed driving through the safari ourselves, taking our time to appreciate each animal and could see them really close which was the best part. The water activities were a huge hit; the kids spent hours playing and having fun. We went as two families and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!

Beautiful experience. Firstly, I recommend purchasing tickets online prior to arrival, as they are CAD37.5 (CAD5 cheaper) compared to CAD42.5 per person when purchased in-person at the gate. After purchasing the ticket, there is an option to either travel in your own car or take the shuttle bus with a tour guide. We traveled in our own car, and stopped at all the attraction points for however long we wanted to. There were multiple animals of the same kind compared to maybe one/two in a zoo. It makes me so happy to see all animals roaming freely in something that replicates their habitat. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, bison, deer, bison, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, baboons are a few of the animals in the safari. There are two bird shows after the safari which were amazing. There is a train ride and a boat ride included in the ticket price. There is a splash pad and water slides area which is open until the first week of September. Also on-site are two big playgrounds for kids to play. There are atleast 10 different food options to choose from inside the safari. Overall, a wonderful experience.

African Lion Safari is a wonderful place for everyone, regardless of age. It's a great place to go.....lots of attention like...African Queen Boat Cruise, "Nature Boy " Scenic Railway, Guest Services Safari Bazaar Jungle Playground, Pets' Corner, and Misumu Bay Wet Play.Other than these.....many more Other activities... You can do some shopping experience, Dinning with different Cousins. etc etc etc.It is a great place to see all the animals in one place living in a natural environment... not in captivity. It's really a fun place for everyone and to enjoy the short periods of summer.

Took the tour bus and was very pleased with the overall experience. Tour bus is reasonably priced, air conditioned, and comfortable seating. Had a 3 month old, 3 year old and a 7 year old. Very great experience for all. The walk through the rest of the park took about an hour and a half and that was with a few stops as it was hot. They have a misting station that really helps cool off. Seen many animals and enjoyed the day. Didn't go to the splash park this visit but have been there before and enjoyed it allot.

Such a wonderful place for all ages, offering an entertaining and educational experience to see wildlife up close.Boat rides and train rides are included in the ticket. The train comes every 20 minutes and offers 10-minute rides around the lake. There are three presentations:- Parrot Paradise: 12:30, 2:30, 4:30- Birds of Prey: 1:00, 3:00, 5:00- Wild Wonder: 1:30, 3:30, 5:30There is also an amazing splash pad (bring a towel, extra clothes, and diapers if you are with kids). The food court offers options like pizza, fries, chicken, soft drinks, and ice cream. You can also bring your own healthy food or snacks. The washrooms are clean and have changing tables. Making a reservation will save you time.

For the animal lover or those with children this is a great place to spend time. The safari aspect is nice as you can tour the facilities at your own space and explore whatever animals your family finds most interesting. The african animals are the stars of the show. There is also a boat ride that gives you some limited views of various primates and a train where you may or may not see elephants. In addition there are extensive bird exhibits and 3 different shows. The parrot show is in my opinion the best with the others which were of limited interest. In addition there is a splash area open seasonally where children can go on watersides and partake in other activities.

Great experience! We took our vehicle through the Safari, and it took about 1 hour to drive through, as you have to be careful and obviously want to take your time. After the tour, we attended the animal shows, which were very amazing creatures. I appreciate African Lion Safari for their commitment to maintaining and helping animals that are at high risk of extinction. Great plan for families with kids :)Buy tickets in advance to save money

There is an amazing place. The driving is saved and comfortable. You will see all animals very close. You can spend whole day there as there's a boat excursion, three different shows with birds and animals. And also there is a very big and cool aqua place for kids. Ice cream, snacks, lunch and souvenirs are available.

Awesome mini vacation trip or a family day trip!Enjoy going through the safari in your own vehicle to see the animals up close an in-person or on the park's bus. That's right, your own vehicle! Sit back and drive the trails to see majestic animals such as: Lions, rhinos, deer, gazelle, yaks, Buffalo, zebra, giraffes, and so much more!Don't forget to pack your child’s swimsuit. There is an amazing swim pad/park for kids. Then, head to the train or boat to take a quick ride around parts of the park.Don't forget to look at the schedules so that you can spend time at a presentation up and close with the animals.Best thing for last, all these perks for 1 price except for the bus ride which is approximately$6 CA.(You can save addional $ if you buy entry tickets online)Park staff is very courteous and friendly! We will be back next season!Thank you!

Perfect for the family. We went on a good day, not to hot. The animals were lovely and we were lucky enough to see them during feeding time. Worth every penny, our toddler loved playing on the equipment and the food was pretty good and prices were reasonable.

I think there are less monkeys and I am not sure but it seems there are less animals. I thought there were more ostriches. There were a lot of empty fenced areas compared to over 10 years ago especially noticing from on the train. The train and cars look newish. There is a very nice large new water splash park there with slides. A new large kids climbing apparatus with 4 to 8 tube slides. The new looking ferry boats were good with some animals on the man made islands. The 3 fenced elephants were cool to see but I remember there were elephants doing tricks and people riding them but I heard they were mistreated and were banned. I think there was a mini horse or donkey ride before for the kids too. It seems less exciting to me and my wife but more so for the kids without the elephants doing tricks and less monkeys climbing around and stuff through the drive through. I want to give it 5 stars but there were a lack of a few things I mentioned. We upgrade our entrance to seasons pass. The original entry had 10% off with my CAA card but it was not included with the upgrade.

A great experience watching the real wild out in the open. The landscape is well maintained and while going through the safari you get to see some of the most beautiful creatures from the wildlife world. We were fortunate to see the lions, the main attraction out in the open. I think they brought themselves to a show for the public. The zebras and the giraffe were crossing through the vehicles like they’re comfortable in their natural habitat. This was my first such experience and very awesome one. A must visit for kids and wildlife enthusiasts.

Amazing experience, you can easily spend your whole day without knowing that. Make sure after drive through go for the trail. Training sessions are fun and they are in sequence, so try not to miss them, the schedule is available at the beginning of the trail. If you have a kid, bring swimming suit as there is a big water park there for your kid. Staff are patient and fun.

It was an amazing experience seeing all animal around you with no barriers! You must try! Staff are so friendly, easy to navigate inside. Just follow the arrows and signs. Windows must be closed at all times while driving around animals. Their water park is amazing. They have a good variety of food over there and the prices are good.

It was so mesmerizing, amazing experience. Bus tour was really comfortable. Different animal species were on display. Their parrot show is cute and funny. It also offers train and boat ride to enjoy scenic view. It was a great experience.

Good place to spend a whole day. Safari was a really good experience, seeing animals up close. The boat ride is small, and not many animals to see. The train ride was good, but the wait time is tooooo long. You need to have a lot of patience, but it will be worth the wait.Water park is mainly for kids, but the adults too have lot of fun.

What a fantastic day at African Lion Safari! The drive-through safari was thrilling, and we saw so many animals up close, including lions, giraffes, and rhinos. The park also has great walking areas and shows. Highly recommend for a fun and educational family outing.African Lion Safari was an incredible experience! Hidden Gem for Animal Lovers! This place was a fantastic surprise! I was initially worried it might be geared more towards younger children, but that wasn't the case at all. I got to see a variety of incredible animals, including lions, white lions, zebras, kangaroos, and many more. The bird shows were a definite highlight – don't miss them if you have the chance! The trainers were impressive, and the birds were fascinating to watch.A fun part of the visit was the train ride. It took us past a large enclosure where we spotted turtles, different bird species, and even elephants! We spent around 2 hours driving through the park and another 2 hours exploring the market area.A tip for future visitors: try to arrive early in the morning. By 10 am, many of the animals were already seeking shade from the heat. And buy tickets online that will save some bucksThis place exceeded my expectations and offered something for everyone. I highly recommend it for a fun and educational day out!

It was a great experience seeing the animals from closer. Loved the place. Must visit once with your family because all the rest of the train and boat rides are free and included in your ticket price. There are lot of shows and presentation that you can attend and these are pretty good. I would suggest to go in the morning hours and then after lunch you can go for all the shows and presentation. There is a small water park too for the kids to play and chill during summer ⛱️

We had a fantastic day at African Lion Safari during our visit to Hamilton, ON! The Safari bus tour was the highlight of our experience, giving us a close look at the animals in their natural habitats. The cruise ride and mini-train ride were fun additions to the day, and the kids especially enjoyed them. The shows were also entertaining, with the parrot show being the most engaging of the three. It was interactive and kept the audience involved, while the other shows felt a bit less captivating in comparison. Our only suggestion for improvement would be the food menu—it could definitely offer more variety and quality to match the overall experience. But all in all, it’s a great family-friendly attraction and well worth a visit if you're in the area.

African Lion Safari offers a unique experience where you can drive through animal enclosures and see wildlife up close, but there are both pros and cons to consider. Purchasing tickets online is a good idea, as you’ll save $7 per person. With multiple ticket booths, getting into the park is usually quick and hassle-free.We drove our car through the safari, which was nice especially on a cooler day when all the animals were out and active. However, the experience was somewhat marred by staff driving around and frequently honking and shouting at visitors to keep moving. For the price paid, it would be nice to have a bit more time to observe and enjoy the animals. Given that there’s two lanes on the one-way trail, there’s no reason why you couldn’t pause to take a photo or simply appreciate the wildlife without holding up other visitors. For kids, this place is a thrill, especially with the large splash pad, play areas, and climbing playgrounds. If you have children under 12, they will likely have a blast. However, my 9-year-old found herself bored an hour into the park. Outside of the safari, there isn’t much to keep older kids engaged. The train and boat rides have long waits (about an hour) for very short experiences (3-4 minutes), you mostly just see grass and a few birds. The shows could use some improvement, they were hard to sit through.Food options in the park are limited, but you can bring your own food. We did just that and enjoyed a picnic in the covered area behind the main entrance gift shop, which was convenient and sheltered in case of rain.Overall, African Lion Safari is worth a visit if you’ve never been, especially for the novelty of seeing animals up close from your vehicle.

🚘Tour Options:It's best to go early if possible to avoid traffic at safari . The safari takes about 2 hours by car. Alternatively, you can take their tour bus, which costs $5.25 for adults and $4.95 for children.⛽️There's a gas station inside the park in case you run out of fuel.⛱️Plenty of space is available to sit and eat with your family near the washrooms.🛥️There's a boat ride that requires about a 1-hour. During the ride, you can watch small animals around the ponds.🚂The train ride, offering scenic views, opens at 11 AM. It’s a great experience for families and kids and lasts for 15 minutes.💦 Water splash space for toddlers🦜The park features three podium animal shows—Parrot Paradise, Birds of Prey, and Wild Wonders—which occur three times a day. These are highly recommended.🍕There are ice cream stands, a Pizza Pizza store, and various snacks and wraps available.🥤Consider getting the unlimited fill-up cold drink cup if you don't have water. You can refill it for free throughout the day.Overall Experience:While there aren’t as many animals in cages compared to the Toronto Zoo, the safari offers a unique experience with less walking required.

Very Good first time experience, try to go as early in the morning as possible for safari. They do say regarding damage to the vehicle during safari but mine was not damaged at all.And do watch out for timings of various presentations over there, they are worth seeing.Boat cruise and train trip are also amazing.

Visited for the first time and have to say it was an amazing experience. The animals roam freely in one area of the park and they all looked well nourished and maintained. You can drive in your own car or take a bus for $5.The other entrance of the park has souvenir shops, kid playground, food court and at certain times of the day you can learn about animals and the conservation efforts being done to save and help endangered species, and there is a free boat ride that takes you along man made islands with animals. Pretty neat experience.Overall it was good experience, although I did find the cages for the birds pretty small and being called "African Lion Safari" some of the animals in the park are not part of the Safari 🤣. On the other hand, I do appreciate the conservation aspect.Would I come back? No, but I do recommend experiencing it at least one time and making your own opinion of it.
